Be accurate
Describe items honestly. Do not hide significant faults, use misleading photographs, make false claims or deliberately misstate ownership, condition, authenticity or history.
COMMUNITY RULES
Keep WotUGot useful, lawful and safe.
These rules apply to listings, profiles, messages, feedback and all other use of WotUGot. They sit alongside the Terms of Use.
Only offer what you can lawfully offer
Do not list stolen property, counterfeit goods, unlawful items or anything you do not have the right to swap, sell or give away. Shift posts must offer the item for free.
No dangerous, illegal or adult listings
Do not list controlled or illegal drugs, unlawful or prohibited weapons, stolen goods, hazardous or illegal materials, pornographic or sexually explicit items, or anything else prohibited by law or site policy. Fraud and unlawful content are prohibited throughout the site.
No pets or livestock
Pets, livestock and other live animals must not be listed for sale, swap, Shift, Seek or otherwise offered or requested through WotUGot.
Stories are reviewed separately
Stories may contain lawful mature subject matter; there is no general family-friendly rule for them. New Stories need site review before public display. Illegal material, non-consensual intimate imagery and unlawful disclosure of private information are prohibited. Have the rights and any legally required consent to share your video and the people in it. Approval is not a guarantee of safety or accuracy.
Respect other members
No threats, harassment, hate, intimidation, sexual harassment, stalking, abusive conduct or attempts to expose another person's private information.
No scams or manipulation
Do not impersonate others, manipulate feedback, create fake completed deals or Shift handovers, misuse multiple accounts or recommendation links, evade bans, send phishing messages or try to obtain passwords or security codes.
No spam
Do not flood listings or messages, post irrelevant promotions, scrape member information or use the service primarily for unsolicited advertising.
Feedback must be genuine
Only leave feedback for a genuine completed tracked deal recorded by the system. Feedback must reflect your real experience and must not be used for blackmail, retaliation or abuse.
Protect privacy
Do not publish another person's home address, phone number, private messages, financial details or other personal information without a lawful reason and appropriate permission.
Cash and mixed offers
Members may agree cash or part-cash terms where the site permits them, but the arrangement remains between those members. WotUGot is not a payment processor, escrow service or guarantor for those payments.
Before sending money, check the member, item, agreed terms and payment method carefully. If you are not completely satisfied, do not send money. Never treat a chat message, listing, profile or rating as a guarantee that a payment or exchange is risk-free.
Live-chat mentions, links and spam
- You may use @username to mention another member in the live room. Do not use mentions to repeatedly pester or harass somebody.
- External links are blocked in public chat. You may link to any available member profile or post on WotUGot, including another member’s item.
- The exact same chat message cannot be sent repeatedly within 30 seconds. Deliberately changing tiny details to bypass anti-spam controls may still be treated as spam.
Live chat and automatic word filtering
The live chat uses an automatic funny-word filter intended to reduce visible profanity, identity-based slurs and common obfuscated spellings. When a filtered term is detected, other members see a harmless replacement instead.
The filter is deliberately broad but cannot understand every context or spelling. Trying to evade it in order to harass, threaten or target another member is still a breach of these rules even if the wording is not automatically replaced.
Reporting
Use the report function when you believe a listing or member breaches these rules. Reports should be made honestly. False or malicious reporting may itself lead to moderation action.
Moderation is not verification.
The fact that a listing or account remains visible does not mean WotUGot has inspected, approved or guaranteed it. Users remain responsible for their own decisions and exchanges.
